How does this compress a PDF?
Each page is rendered and saved as an optimized JPEG inside a new PDF. That's very effective for scanned and image-heavy files.
Will text still be selectable?
No. Because pages become images, text can no longer be selected or searched. Keep the original if you need that.
What if the result is bigger?
Text-only PDFs are often already tiny. If compressing doesn't help, we tell you and you can keep the original.
